ASEEL DATES
Aseel Dates
Aseel Dates are high-quality dates (khajoor) grown in Pakistan and exported all over the world. The Aseel variety of dates is considered one of the superior and commercial varieties in Pakistan, grown mainly in the Khairpur District of Sindh Province. Aseel Date Palms stand tall with a beautiful top crown having green ferns around. The fruit matures in July-August for harvest. The growers cut the fruit bunches and pick the half-ripened pieces for placing under sunlight to turn into soft dates. The rest of the 80-90% fruit is detached manually from the bunches and then treated with hot water at boiling point. Afterward, boiled dates are exposed to sunlight for at least three days, which finally turn into dried dates, commonly called Chhohara. The soft dates are processed for cleaning, grading, pitting, and dicing, and then packed in boxes for export or local sales.
